Hello!

Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint in Medium

I have been wanting to try Milk's products for a while now and finally decided to get some. Summer is here and I am looking to find a new light weight, buildable coverage foundation that I can use for outdoor adventures.  My first impressions of the product while in the store are that it is breathable, blends amazingly, and comes in a super convenient roller ball tube. This packaging is a gift from the makeup gods! It is great for summer travel because it won't leak in your suitcase and it is plastic so you don't have to worry about a broken glass foundation bottle. The roller ball application is incredible. Accidentally squeezing too much makeup out of the foundation pump is a thing of the past my friend.  This also helps me achieve the buildable coverage I am looking for.

I get out of bed this morning and bounce straight into the bathroom, ready to try my new foundation. I start by wiping my face down with a wet wash cloth so that I have a clean surface to work with. Making my way down the stairs, I retrieved my new Milk Makeup Cooling water stick from the fridge. (You can find the review for that below 😉)

The primer I use with this foundation is the Laura Mercier Protect Foundation Primer SPF 30. Acne medication makes your face more sensitive to UV rays so all of my face products contain an SPF. Now, we get to the fun part! The foundation container has a button on the bottom. I press the button about five times to get the flow of product started. I feel like I used a lot of product because I had to pump more foundation into the roller ball chamber at least three times during application but you can't really tell how much product is being dispensed into the chamber so who knows how much product I actually used.  I use a Sephora Detail Oriented Sponge to blend the foundation, as a beauty blender is the recommended tool.

The foundation blends flawlessly into my skin. I highly recommend this skin tint to anyone looking for a buildable coverage summer foundation.  The one thing I will say is that the foundation gives you a dewy finish, so matte foundation lovers probably won't like this product. I have not had a chance to see how this product holds up in water, but I will give an update on my Instagram, @makeupbycococat, as to how well it stays. I am also planning on doing a Summer Foundation Picks post in the next few weeks, so be on the look out!

Milk Makeup Cooling Water

I saw this product when I was out of town and wanted to buy it but had no room in my suitcase! When I arrive back home, I head out to my local Sephora to find it. Before I purchased the product, I tried it one more time on the inside of my wrist. I took it home and read up on the recommended use on the Sephora app. The app suggests putting the stick in the fridge for maximum cooling effect. I set the stick on the shelf in the fridge and headed to sleep, giving the product the night to cool.
In the morning, I go downstairs and collect the stick from the fridge. Sweeping the cool gel over my face, I can feel the effects of the product immediately. It definitely de-puffed and cooled my face. This isn't a product that you would actually need for everyday life, but it is a nice add-on to you    pre-existing morning routine.

Sephora Detail-Oriented Sponge

I had a Beauty Blender which I had been contemplating replacing because it was getting a bit old. A few days after that thought occurred to me, I dropped my blender and accidentally slipped on it, causing it to rip in  half.  Now, it was REALLY time to get a new sponge.  I looked at all the Sephora brand sponges because I wanted something cheap, I'm not picky about my blenders. I decided on this one because it could serve as both my foundation and eye shadow sponge.

The morning after I bought the sponge I used it to apply my foundation.  It is not as dense as my previous blender but that was to be expected, due to the vast difference in price. Surprisingly, it worked just as well as my old, expensive blender!
I would definitely recommend these sponges because they are far cheaper than brand name Beauty Blenders but work just as well.

Bite 022 Lip Pencil

I actually did not own a lip liner before I got this one. 😅😅 I needed a lip liner that went with the lipstick I bought a few months back. The lipstick had an orange-y hue and my lips are a bright pink color, I needed a lip liner to help the lipstick blend a bit better. I tried a million colors out on my wrist. I have to try all beauty products before I buy them because my skin oxidizes make up and can make it change colors. I tried the color, and it stayed the same so into my basket it went!

I put moisturizer and primer on my lips before application. Once that was totally dry, I lined my lips. The color changed almost immediately. *sigh* Looks like I didn't wait long enough for the color to change at the store. It is still a beautiful color though! I lightly filled in the rest of my lips with the pencil and then blended it with some lip gloss. The color lasted all day! I give it an eight out of ten.

Thanks for checking out my product reviews! Coming soon is My Foundation Journey.
