Favorite Eye Shadows + Contours/Bronzers
Hello!
I recently got a request to make a post about my favorite eye shadow and contour palettes. Generally, I buy my eye shadows in single pans instead of palettes so most of the products in this post are by the pan instead of by palette. I'll divide this post into two sections: eye shadows and contours + bronzers. (Note: I do not receive any compensation from these brands or companies to sell their products, nor do I receive commission for these links)
Now, an eye shadow is only as good as it's primer. I use this Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion in the shade "Eden." I found this product when I borrowed it from a friend and fell in love! I have used many different eye primers since then, but none of them have compared to this one. It is a thick cream formula that you apply with the lip gloss-esque wand attached to the cap and blend it out with your ring finger. It gives you a beautiful, even-toned canvas to work with. I especially like that it is a extremely buildable, so I can wear it lightly for a fresh faced look, or apply it more heavily for evening looks when I wear more shadow. You can get it from Sephora with this link.
The one eye shadow palette I use consistently is the Too Faced Natural Eyes neutral eye shadow palette. I like this palette because the shadows can be used for a natural look but they also work well for darker, fancier evening looks. The palette comes with a "Glamour Guide" which shows you three
different looks to create with those specific eye shadows. I tend to mix and match and you should feel free to experiment with various combinations and techniques to find what works for you and your unique eye shape. I am planning on doing a video with this palette in the near future, so you can expect to see that soon! You can find the palette here.
This is a shadow from City Color Cosmetics in the shade, "Cheers To Life." I have a serious love for bronze glitter shadows. 😂 They make up the majority of eye shadows I own. I received this product in my June Glam Bag, and I absolutely love it! I use this shadow almost everyday, as it really complements hazel eyes. While you really can't go wrong with bronze eyes shadow, it really brings out the beauty in dark green and deep brown eyes. This particular product has a wonderful sparkle, and great pigment. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a go-to daily eye shadow. Find it here.
I have saved the best eye shadow for last, Ofra Cosmetics eye shadows. All of their eye shadows are absolutely gorgeous and extremely pigmented. Just a little bit of product goes a long way. I have a couple of their shades, but my current favorite is their Shimmer Shadow in the shade "Victory." This eye shadow blends quite well and stays flawless all day. You can find it here.
My favorite contour/bronzer/highlight trio is Smashbox Cosmetics Step-By-Step Contour Kit. The palette does come with it's own brush but I use a Royal & Langnickel Precision Angled brush to draw in the contour lines and then blend out with a brush similar to Luxie Onyx Noir Tapered Face Makeup Brush 520. (The brush that I use has been discontinued) I've been using this product for a while, and I like it quite a bit. I would recommend it to someone just starting to learn how to do contour, because the product is not very pigmented so taking a wrong stroke with the brush won't ruin your makeup. You can find it here.

This is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer. I received it in my July Glam Bag and I am going to have to buy a full sized product! This bronzer lasts all day and gives your face structure without making it look shiny like many bronzers. It doesn't have any glitter in it, so its perfect for summer when the sun gives your face a sheen. This product is especially great for people who have oily skin, as it soaks up excess moisture. You can get to from Ulta with this link.
Thanks for reading my post! I hope you enjoyed it and learned something new! Let me know in the comments below how these products worked for you.
Love,
Coco Cat
